Speech therapy
Tania introduces the sequence of what Ashton will be doing.
First this then ... then .....
following “the group plan”
She has introduced “the group plan” as a way for Ashton to begin to understand that other people have ideas and that we need to be aware of that and follow what the plan is.
This will help Ashton play with his peers once he understands that it is important to follow what everyone has decided to do in the game . E.g Tom wants to play tag and when you get tagged you have to be a robot !!
Literature.. Ashton will natch the words . We are using words that follow Ashton’s interests.
Tania explains that we have a group plan and we need to follow the group plan.
LEGO therapy- sorting - designation of roles . Ashton is the builder and Tania is the engineer and the supplier today. Ashton is a little distracted because he has seen a toy as we walked in them at he wants to play with. He has to be encouraged to do this activity first and then he can do the toy
Ashton is requesting the new toy as he has finished his sequence of activities.. Tania is also getting him to describe how he is feeling. He is happy.
Ashton had showed an interest last week of a song “we will rock you.” By Queen. She is using the words to introduce literature. She has the words printed and Ashton is matching them. She is using them to read.

Video 1,2,3,4, - emotions
Goal - to identify what each person is feeling and sort them into categories
Outcome - Ashton was able to identify each of the feelings, he thought surprised was scared/afraid which is what it also looked like. Ashton was being cheeky and mixed all the feelings together so I placed the pictures into sections to encourage Ashton to also do so. We went onto having a nice conversation about our dreams and all sorts of other things.

[10/10/20, 5:26:42 pm] Chantelle Burns Nanny : 10/10/20 Video 1 - Waseca Program (reading program) - Red 1 (three letter phonetic words and short vowel sounds - a)
Goal - to sound out words phonetically to encourage reading and spelling.
Outcome - Ashton wasn't very keen to participate with this activity today and we only ended up looking at two of the phonetic cards - bat and cat. I tried to encourage Ashton to join in with the activity by modelling it, but he became upset so I decided to stop. I didn't want to push too hard as this is a new activity and I don't want Ashton to associate negative feelings towards it.
[10/10/20, 5:27:29 pm] Chantelle Burns Nanny : 10/10/20 Video 2 - Sticker book
Goal - to stick stickers onto the numbers using the matching shapes from the examples on the opposite page. (fine motor and number recognition).
Outcome - I chose this page in the sticker book for Ashton as it included a number of things for us to work on (fine motor, number recognition and matching shapes). Once we got into the activity I was able to encourage Ashton's participation by taking turns. I also encouraged him by saying the stickers were flying Mothra. Ashton was able to peel and stick the stickers independently.
[10/10/20, 5:32:48 pm] Chantelle Burns Nanny : 10/10/20 Video 3 - Labelling actions
Goal - to label the noun (he/she) and verb (eg. sleeping) when presented with an action picture flashcard.
Outcome - Ashton was able to label each of the cards presented to him. I had to encourage him to stay at the table and to participate as he had initially ran away laughing.

[9/10/20, 8:15:21 pm] Chantelle Burns Nanny : 09/10/20 Video 1 - Waseca Program (reading program) - Red 1 (three letter phonetic words and short vowel sounds - a)
Goal - to sound out words phonetically to encourage reading and spelling.
Outcome - Ashton needed some encouragement to begin this task. I thought it would be a good idea to give us Pokémon names so we could be characters (to make the task engaging and utilise his interests to make the learning fun), this proved to be more of a distraction. Eventually we began the task and I asked Ashton to identify what was on the picture card, I ended up telling him the answer (this was the result for most of the cards). Next I sounded out the matching word, pointing to the letters on the word card as I said each of them (I tried to make sure Ashton was looking and following along). After that step I wanted Ashton to find the letters that matched the words and he could do this step on his own sometimes (he needed prompting and encouragement). I repeated this until we finished all of the red 1 cards and as this had taken us around fifteen minutes I felt it was time to end the activity.
[9/10/20, 8:19:34 pm] Chantelle Burns Nanny : 09/10/20 Video 2 - Time 4 Learning (seasons)
Goal - to answer seasonal questions when presented with two possible choices (answers).
Outcome - Today I wanted to explore the topic of seasons with Ashton so I selected the seasons section on Time 4 Learning. I chose the Brainy Bots activity and Ashton had to select the correct answer when presented with two options. Ashton was able to select the correct answer sometimes. After we finished this activity I gave Ashton some free time to play painting and mixing colours.
[9/10/20, 8:21:55 pm] Chantelle Burns Nanny : 09/10/20 Video 3 - Labelling actions
Goal - to label the noun (he/she) and verb (eg. sleeping) when presented with an action picture flashcard.
Outcome - Ashton wasn't very focused when I began this activity. I presented Ashton with the first card, a girl that was sleeping and he was able to identify the action. Ashton said he wanted to go to sleep and ran away. I went after Ashton and got him back to the activity. For the remainder of this task I had to encourage Ashton to tell me what action was happening on the cards and he seemed distracted at times.

[7/10/20, 5:54:56 pm] Chantelle Burns Nanny : 07/10/20 Video 1 - Osmo Detective
Goal - to follow the clues to find the missing piece of the painting. (following instructions)
Outcome - Today on Osmo Detective we needed to find the missing pieces of a painting. Ashton's job was to follow the clues with his magnifying glass and he was able to find most of them on his own, however I occasionally pointed him in the right direction. During this activity I discussed the different clues that Ashton would find. Overall Ashton focused on the activity and he followed the clues to find a missing piece of the painting. We did start the next phase to find another piece of the painting, but Ashton was ready to I finish up before we completed all of the clues.
[7/10/20, 5:56:56 pm] Chantelle Burns Nanny : 07/10/20 Video 2 - Letter 'B' play dough mats/tracing
Goal - letter recognition, to recognise the letter 'B', make the sound, discuss words that start with 'B' and trace the letter (both upper and lowercase) (fine motor skills to build up muscles in fingers in preparation for writing with a pencil).
Outcome - Ashton wasn't initially following my instructions and at first he was more interested in the toys that started with the letter 'B'. I eventually got Ashton to listen to me and I asked him to identify the letter, however he wasn't able to, so I told Ashton the letter, the sound it makes and gave him some examples of words that start with 'B'. I than gave Ashton the marker and he did a pretty good attempt at tracing the letter. I encouraged Ashton to place the play dough on top to make the letter as we usually do, but today Ashton just put all of the play dough on without forming the letter. Ashton got up and ran away from the table, but I was able to get him back after I conveyed to him that I was upset because he had ran away. When Ashton returned he traced the lower case 'b' and this time he did a better job with the play dough. At the end we discussed words that start with the letter 'b'.
[7/10/20, 5:58:35 pm] Chantelle Burns Nanny : 07/10/20 Video 3 - I see book
Goal - to identify the gender of the person (noun he/she) and what he or she is doing (verb).
Outcome - Ashton didn't want to participate during this activity today, he was getting upset so I didn't want to push him too hard. I modelled the activity twice after trying to encourage Ashton to do it himself. I ended the activity after these two attempts.

[3/10/20, 5:30:13 pm] Chantelle Burns Nanny : 03/10/20 Video 1 - Alphabet play dough cutters
Goal - to recognise letters. (letter recognition)
Outcome - Today I wanted to do some lowercase letter recognition with our new play dough cutters. During this task I selected letters that matched Ashton's interests, for example m for Mothra. Ashton was able to use the cutters to make imprints of the letters and while he was doing this I talked about words that started with each letter and the sounds they make. Ashton was a little distracted by the play dough at times and didn't show a high level of interest in the letters.
[3/10/20, 5:31:10 pm] Chantelle Burns Nanny : 03/10/20 Video 2 - Patterns
Goal - to finish the alternating pattern. (sequencing and patterning)
Outcome - Recently we have been exploring the concept of patterning with Ashton on Time 4 Learning, so today I decided to try it with concrete objects. I selected some coloured bugs and began to set up a pattern. At first Ashton just wanted to grab the bugs, but eventually I lined up a pattern. I gave Ashton two options for what should come next and I promoted him to choose one. After prompting several times (and also trying to be Megasword to spark Ashton's interests) I ended up helping Ashton finish the pattern. I set up another pattern and tried being Megasword again, in the end I had to help Ashton select the correct bug to finish the pattern.
[3/10/20, 5:32:34 pm] Chantelle Burns Nanny : 03/10/20 Video 3 - Shopping list
Goal - to find and place the items from the shopping list into the trolley/basket. (matching and memory skills)
Outcome - At the start of this activity Ashton asked me to be Megasword so I put on the voice and got him to help me set up our shopping game. After we set up the clothing items for our shop I showed Ashton a shopping basket and trolley, he chose the trolley. Next I tried to get Ashton to choose a shopping list, but in the end I selected the list we would use. When we started shopping Ashton pushed all of our items out of order so I conveyed to him that I was annoyed (exploring emotions). During this task Ashton was able to find all the shopping items that we needed on our list, sometimes I had to prompt Ashton and keep him on task.
[3/10/20, 5:34:27 pm] Chantelle Burns Nanny : 03/10/20 Video 4 - Yoga ball balance
Goal - to balance on the yoga ball and retrieve the bot bots. (balance and core strength)
Outcome - Today we set up Ashton's bot bots on a ledge for him to retrieve. We turned this balancing activity into a game, the floor was lava so Ashton needed to use his yoga ball to protect himself from getting burnt whilst he recused his bot bots. Ashton was able to successfully rescue the bot bots by balancing on the yoga ball.
[2/10/20, 7:34:57 pm] Chantelle Burns Nanny : 02/10/20 Video 1 - Osmo Pizza
Goal - to make pizza orders for customers correctly. (following instructions)
Outcome - Today I decided to do some osmo pizza making with Ashton so he could practise following instructions when making the customer's their pizza. Ashton was being a little cheeky and doing the orders incorrectly, he thought this was very funny. A few times I was able to get Ashton to make the orders correctly, however he was following his own agenda for most of our osmo experience.
[2/10/20, 7:36:29 pm] Chantelle Burns Nanny : 02/10/20 Video 2 - Star Program 2 (receptive language lesson 3) Identification of People
Goal - to receptively identify people when asked to point to them in a photograph.
Outcome - I presented Ashton with several photos of his family and friends so that he could identity them. Ashton was able to point to everyone as I requested.
[2/10/20, 7:37:06 pm] Chantelle Burns Nanny : 02/10/20 Video 3 - Positional words
Goal - to place items in the correct position based on the instruction cards directions.
Outcome - Today I did some positional word cards with Ashton and I was originally wanting to use the word instruction side of the card, but in the end I needed to turn it over to the picture instruction side. Ashton needed encouragement to complete this task, I even had to put on a Megasword voice to entice him and this seemed to work. When I stated using the voice Ashton became more involved. Overall Ashton is capable of completing this activity.
[2/10/20, 7:38:05 pm] Chantelle Burns Nanny : 02/10/20 Video 4 - Yoga balls/sight words
Goal - to build up core strength whilst learning sight words.
Outcome - Ashton was able to successfully roll on the yoga ball to grab a magic sight word. After he grabbed the sight word we asked him to look at it as we identified it for him. When his turn was finished he waited at the side whilst his sisters took their turns. Ashton had the final turn.

[1/10/20, 5:31:04 pm] Chantelle Burns Nanny : 01/10/20 Video 1 - Star Program 2 (receptive language lesson 2) Accelerated Labels
Goal - to receptively identify new vocabulary words using pictures and when given the cue "give me..."
Outcome - I presented Ashton with 5 functional item cards and he needed to give me each card as I requested it. Ashton was able to give me each item, however he needing prompting when it came to the soap and comb. We primarily use liquid soap at home and this picture depicted a bar of soap; this was a good learning opportunity for Ashton because it is teaching him to generalise the word soap (so he doesn't just associate the word with what we use at home). I will repeat this activity to continue generalising words with Ashton and using other cards that we didn't get to today.
[1/10/20, 5:37:54 pm] Chantelle Burns Nanny : 01/10/20 Video 2 - Star Program 2 (expressive language lesson 1) Labels
Goal - to name 5 picture when given the cue "what is this?"
Outcome - For this activity Ashton had to verbally tell me what each item card was when I presented them to him one at a time and also when I lined them up in a group (functional items - spoon, bowl, cup, block and car as outlined in the lesson plan). Ashton was able to tell me what each item was as I presented the cards one by one, however when I lined them up he began to get restless and I was unable to complete the task. I will repeat the task again to ensure he can achieve all goals within this activity.
[1/10/20, 5:42:55 pm] Chantelle Burns Nanny : 01/10/20 Video 3 - Emotions
Goal - to explore the 'happy' emotion and use a marker to answer questions. (social/emotional and fine motor)
Outcome - Today I used the wipe and write feelings book to explore the emotion of happiness. At first Ashton was a bit upset as he wanted to find Godzilla, but I was able to bring him back to task. The first question required Ashton to recognise the happy face out of three emotions and he was able to do this. Ashton than mentioned to me he wanted to find his Godzilla toy so I told him we need to do our activity first. Next up Ashton had to count the happy faces and we did this together. The total number of happy faces was 9, I got Ashton to help me write this number in box. The next task on the page was to draw a happy face (onto a blank face), at first Ashton went to scribble so I rubbed it out and he followed my instructions to draw the happy face. Finally Ashton needed to trace the word happy, he gave it a go and did stroke like movements.
[1/10/20, 5:47:15 pm] Chantelle Burns Nanny : 01/10/20 Video 4 - Time 4 Learning (abc) Brainy Bots
Goal - to select the correct letter out of four options. (letter recognition)
Outcome - Today on Time 4 Learning Ashton did the brainy bots activity to practise his letter recognition. In this activity Ashton was given four letter options and he had to select the correct letter as requested. At times Ashton selected the correct letter on the first go, however on some rounds it took him a few picks to get the correct letter. After Ashton completed this activity I gave him some playtime and let him do the colour mixing activity.
